I think it looks good but… it just doesn’t look as exciting as I think VW are capable of, it looks like they haven’t tried too hard because they don’t want to eat into Audi territory.
And the video is strange - obviously targeting US market rather than European - otherwise they would have shown it going around a corner (bend)!

^^^ Yes, I agree with the above comment. It does look good but Volkswagen could and should do better. I remember looking at all the design studies for the new Golf and was really expecting a home run. Instead, we got a double. The exterior of the Scirocco is more ambitious than the Golf. I find the overall look to be really nicely balanced and it does convey the idea of speed quite well. However, the parts that make up the whole are rather lukewarm; the lines flow predictably and there is nothing new that is being tried here. I think this will make the Scirocco successful initially but I also believe demand will taper off significantly after the first wave of enthusiasm. A vehicle such as the Infiniti Q45 was way ahead of its time when it debuted. It has very slippery lines like the Scirocco, but since we have grown used to it over time, what the Scirocco is offering is something we are already familiar with. In concept form, the Scirocco was a head turner, as was the Golf and the new Beetle. But as usual with Volkswagen, they have a way of dumbing down their designs. Mind you, I believe BMW and Mercedes have been doling out dreary designs for some time now. So what Volkswagen is doing is nothing unusual. It’s just business. Anyway, the interior of the Scirocco looks as if it just an amalgamation of the VW parts bin. I for one have great regard for the ergonomics of VW’s interiors and generally find the materials, fit and finish, to be above their class. With the Scirocco, the interior continues to be tastefully executed but there is very little to differentiate it from the other VW products. There are the Scirocco styled seats and air vents that make it distinctive but little else. I was hoping for more. There are many alternatives to the Scirocco that stand out more from the crowd. At the moment there is the current Mini for starters. And just over the horizon, the new Prius and the Chevy Volt are more colorful alternatives to the standard hot-hatch that is the Scirocco. In the end, I believe the Scirocco needed to be a bigger statement than it is. Times are changing and people are expecting newer ideas from vehicles these days. I hope VW will someday deliver.
