Jaguar XF-R

With the XF being a great car and selling really good, it looks like Jaguar has set their eyes on the BMW M5, Mercedes Benz C63 AMG and Audi RS6, because next year we’ll see the world debut of the Jaguar XF-R. Rumors say that the car, which made its first appearance at the Goodward Festival of Speed, will be powered by a 5.0 liter V8 developing around 500 hp. As we can see from these photos, the car has a new front spoiler, a discreet rear flap, four exhaust pipes and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels which will be available exclusively for the version R.

Video: Jaguar XF does great against its German rivals

Though everyone was impressed with the new Jaguar XF, everyone also agreed that the market it targets is highly competitive, with strong German rivals, such as the Audi A6, the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes Benz E Class. InsideLine put up the XF against these cars and you’d be amazed by the results. I mean, I like the XF, but didn’t imagine it will be that good. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the Jaguar had the most powerful engine, the 420 hp Supercharged V8.

Jaguar XF magazine for the iPhone

Jaguar XF Apple iPhone

Apple had a huge success lately with its products, especially the iPhone (I think I just got over my iPhone allergy, because there was a time when everyone just looked like it lost its mind with the iPhone), so, in an interesting marketing move, Jaguar decided to take advantage of Apple’s recent boom and lanched jxfphone.com, which is a magazine created exclusive for Apple’s touchscreen devices (that includes the iPhone or the iPod Touch).

The website, which can also be viewed by MAC and PC users, offer a ton of images, videos and a lot of marketing info regarding the Jaguar XF. As I said, I like Jaguar’s marketing approach, especially that Apple’s touchscreen devices offer quite an attractive experience, and Jaguar might really succeed with this magazine.

Jaguar XF-R

The Jagura XF is not even out yet and the folks at Jaguar already started testing the Jaguar XF-R, which will be a high performance version of the XF. Here are some spy shots caught by AutoMedia, that reveal a sporty XF (even if they tried hiding it by using the back of the current S-Type) with four exhaust pipes, massive wheels with lo-profile tires and cross-drilled brake disks. The XF-R is expected to be launched in 2009, one year after the XF.

The first Jaguar XF to be auctioned for charity

Jaguar XF Charity

Like the buzz that was created recently around the new Jaguar XF wasn’t enough, the British producer thought a little more publicity won’t hurt. So they’ve decided that the first Jaguar XF to be put up for auction on September 7th, at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK. The money taken from the lucky guy who will own this car will all be donated to The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

For the money he gives, beside the pride driving the first XF, the new owner will choose the color options for the car with help from Ian Callum, Jaguar’s head of design, plus he or she will be able to visit the Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham to see his XF being built.

For the rest of the British guys who won’t have the money for this special, here is the Jaguar XF pricing for UK.

First official photo of the Jaguar XF?

Jaguar XF Official

After we’ve seen some spy shots and with only one week until official images and details of the car will be released, here is the latest shot, revealing the new Jaguar XF’s profile completely undisguised.

The new XF is a crucial model for the struggling British marque so its styling is very important, plus that it’s one of this year’s most anticipated car. The C-XF concept promised a lot but this new image shows a much more mundane car, especially its styling up front. Hopefully the new XF will look better once it’s seen in the ‘flesh’ at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
