At the Detroit Motor Show, next January, Volvo will unveiled the S60 Concept, a car which previews the next generation S60, which is scheduled to debut in 2010. After about month ago they released a teaser photo showing the car’s unique Orrefors crystal interior, today we have the first photo of the car’s coupe-like exterior styling.

“The concept car’s design gives a visual promise of enthusiastic driving characteristics and I can assure you that the all-new S60 will deliver a sporty drive like no Volvo before,” says Stephen Odell, President and CEO at Volvo Cars.

“The inspiration comes from the Swedish coastline’s cliffs and seas. An exciting blend of drama and sensuality,” explains Volvo Cars’ design director, Steve Mattin. “This concept car takes our design DNA to the next level. We’re talking about a ‘Dramatic New Approach’, meaning that we gradually turn up our cars’ visual volume. The concept car’s exterior gives a clear indication of what customers can expect of the all-new S60. On the inside we’ve been even more daring - there the focus has been on creating a vision of the future in the slightly longer perspective.”

BMW has uploaded a video on its website, in which we can get a glimpse of the BMW Concept X1, which will debut next week at the Paris Motor Show. The concept previews the production version of the X1 which, according to our friends from BMW Blog, will be available with both four wheel drive and rear wheel drive. Apparently, the car won’t be placed under the X3, in the BMW range, but more of something closer to the 3 Series touring. Sporting a range of four and six cylinders diesel and petrol engines, the X1 will first be marketed in Europe. Enjoy the video!

After the first teaser was released on Monday, today Lamborghini decided to show us another photo of their mysterious car that will be revealed at next month’s Paris Motor Show. Of course, no extra info was released, except that we’ll get to see the car on October 2, the first press day. However, judging by the kinda short front part, we’re guessing the speculations about a four door coupe might be true. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated on this and we’ll also be there in Paris on October 2, to see the beauty.

To keep the buzz around the 2010 Ford Mustang until the official launch at the LA Show in November, Ford has published today a set of teaser photos on the dedicated minisite. We can’t tell much from the photos, but from what I can see, the next generation Mustang doesn’t seem to be dramatically changed comparing to the current Mustang. Guess we’ll have to wait for some more spy photos or some leaked images.

A few minutes ago, GM released a teaser photo of the upcoming 2010 Buick LaCrosse, whose design is heavily influenced by the recent Buick Invicta and which is scheduled to make its world debut at this year’s LA Auto Show. That’s about all the info GM released so far, but stay tuned as we’ll let you know once we get more.

Nissan released this teaser photo of the Nissan Intima, which will make its debut at this month’s Beijing Auto Show. However, except for the fact that this will be Nissan’s flagship in China, that’s about all we got regarding the Intima. If we consider the latest rumors circulating about the Intima, this car will probably be a sporty looking four-dour sedan and it remains unknown if the road version will have the concept’s doors and seats arrangement.

As you probably know, the Iron Man movie will hit cinemas starting May 2nd. The movie features Robert Downey Jr (one of my personal favourites actors), Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges and Samuel L. Jackson and is about a guy, Tony Stark (Downey Jr), who is is forced to create a life support suit to keep him alive after an accident and who he decides to use the technology in his suit to fight crime. Besides these fine actors and plenty of cool special effects, the movie also features another star, this time from the auto world, the Audi R8, which has just won two categories at the 2008 Car of the Year awards.

With just two days left until the 2009 Nissan Maxima will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the Japanese producer released a set of four teaser photos of the car. We can’t tell much about the car’s looks, but one thing that’s cool about these photos is the “4DSC” (4-Doors Sports Car) lettres which show up, letters that were also present on the late ’80s Maxima.

As some of you probably know, the next generation Opel Vectra will be called the Opel Insignia and will be presented on July 2nd, at the London Motor Show. The car is based on GM’s Epsilon II platform and rumors say it will also replace the Saturn Aura in the US.

Besides this teaser photo, Opel also released an image of the upcoming Insignia’s headlamps, which will feature a new AFL technology, which has a lot of very interesting features, like the automatical adjustment of the headlamp beam distribution and LED daytime running lamps for less electricity and fuel.

After some time ago we presented you some spy shots of a Ford Focus RS prototype, here’s the first teaser photo of the upcoming super hatch from Ford. The car will be powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine, developed by Volvo, which produces 280 hp and 400 lb.-ft of torque. Nothing official yet, but the RS will probably feature some performance upgrades, like a lowered suspension, upgraded brakes and, of course, a more aggressive and sportier exterior and interior.

More powerful than the current Ford top-of-the-line, the Focus ST, the RS is scheduled to debut in 2008 with sales probably starting in early 2009 and will face some serious competition from the recently introduced Mitsubishi Evo X and Subaru Impreza STi.

Presented early this year, at the Detroit Auto Show, the Chevrolet Volt created quite some buzz, by being one really interesting plug-in hybrid concept. After Bob Lutz, GM’s Vice Chairman announced that the car will go into production in 2010 or maybe later, he also said that the car won’t look like the concept, however, from this teaser photo, released today, we can see that the car actually looks like the concept, at least from that angle.

GM has tried to improve the aerodynamic drag, which accounts for up to twenty percent of the energy necessary to propel a vehicle and can improve fuel efficiency, no matter what fuel is used (electricity, E85 or gasoline). This was possible by wind-tunnel testing and design, and so, the production Volt has 30 percent less drag than the concept Volt.

After last week Dodge announced the pricing and the date when they’ll start taking orders for the new Dodge Challenger SRT8, now they released a few teaser photos, showing different angles of the car. In case you’ve missed our previous post, we remind you that the Challenger SRT8 will be priced at $37,995 and Dodge started taking orders on the 3rd of December and reports say that they’ve already received about 6,000 so far and rumors say that, though the initial plan was to build 5,000 Challengers, the number was raised to 10,000.

No, relax, you’re not having a deja-vu. I don’t know what Subaru is planning with this “day and teaser” strategy, but we like it. After a few days ago we showed you the second STi teaser photo, here’s another one. Enjoy!

After two weeks ago Subaru released the first official teaser photo of the upcoming 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi, now they’ve decided to tease us a little more and released a new photo, which shows some parts of the back of the car. And if you don’t know, we remind you that the STi will have a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine, that develops 300 hp and goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
