So, you’ve got a Subaru Impreza WRX loaded into a semi and you need to unload it. What do to, what to do? Well, I don’t know, but I have a feeling these guys could’ve braced the ramp better.

Today Subaru released the official specs and some photos of the 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX. Comparing it to the 2008 model, the new Impreza WRX is much much better and we can only feel sorry for those that rushed and bought the 2008 version. The new Impreza received a 41 hp power boost, retuned suspension and wider, lower-profile summer performance tires.

By fitting the car with a larger turbocharger, along with a new larger-diameter exhaust and low-density catalyst for reduced backpressure, the WRX engine now produces 265 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 244 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,000 rpm – significant increases from the 224 horsepower and 226 lb.-ft. For the 2009 WRX, Subaru engineers developed a revised suspension which, combined with Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) stability and traction control system helps to enhance the WRX model’s road handling safety. The car comes standard with 17 x 7-inch aluminum alloy wheels which now wear 225/45R17 summer performance tires, compared to 205/50R17 all-season tires used on the 2008 WRX.

Remember “Gone in 60 Seconds”? We’re sure you do and that was the first thing that crossed our minds when we first saw this. Because on Saturday night, thieves broke into the Xtreme UK showroom in Stourbridge, West Midlands and took off with nine cars, valued at over £300,000 (that’s about $600,000). The stolen cars were one Lamborghini Gallardo, two Subaru Imprezza WRXs, three Mitsubishi Evolution, a Porsche 911 and a Renault Clio V6.

Apparently, we weren’t the only ones thinking about the movie, because Xtreme UK chief, James Challis, said that “just like in the Gone in 60 Seconds movie, the crooks obviously knew what they were looking for.” However, what’s really interesting is that, if you take a look at the Xtreme UK website, you’ll see that they have live cams from the showroom, but these were pretty useless to the police in finding out suspects.

So, everyone in the UK, if you’re looking for a good deal on a high performance car, this might be your lucky day.
