Rolls Royce Phantom ‘Peony’ limited edition

Rolls Royce Phantom Peony

The UAE is definitely the best market for luxury products, there’s no doubt about that. And cars are no exception. So Rolls Royce decided to create a limited edition especially for its loyal and wealthy arab customers. Dubbed “Peony”, the car’s name comes from a the ‘Peony’ flower design, which is an ancient oriental motif that represents royalty, wealth and distinction. The limited edition features a two-tone exterior of Pearl Blue with a contrasting Moonstone Pearl Blue and Seashell interior. The flower motif, in traditional blue and yellow, is used throughout the vehicle, including an exterior logo along with interior wood trim inlay and oriental art door capping. Besides customised tread plates, customers will also receive a special HIND perfume.

Though the car’s mechanics remain the same (6.75 liter V12 engine with 453 hp (338kW) and 530lb-ft (720Nm) of torque), the ‘Peony’ limited edition is a part of Rolls Royce’s ‘Bespoke Program’, a special exclusive program where customers are able to fully customise the car (paints, materials, mechanics). The car’s pricing? Who knows, who cares? Read More: "Rolls Royce Phantom ‘Peony’ limited edition"

When luxury just isn’t enough

Luxury Ornament Carwax

We’ve always wondered what would we do if we had too much money and nothing to do with it (after buying ourselves some nice cars, of course). And here are two suggestions, though we probably wouldn’t consider none of them because they’re simply…ridiculous.

The first on is a $200,000 Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament for the Rolls Royce. We don’t know if you can fit it to any Rolls model, but we don’t really care. What we know is that for $200,000 (about half of what you’ve paid for the Phantom), you get an ornament created from diamonds, platinum and other rare metals. We could also tell you how exactly the jewel is made, through what processes it gets before reaching the hood of your Rolls, but we don’t think you’d be interested. The fact is it was designed by Jean Kemanjian, a jeweler from Manhattan and that currently there’s only one of these made, which is in the property of Manhattan Motorcars, the dealership that comissioned it but, of course, they hope to sell a few of these. We can only wish them the best of luck.

And the second item is a $2,750 car wax. Yup, that’s the correct figure, no typos. Produced by a Swiss company, Swizöl this very expensive car wax, called Swissvax, will come in a package which also includes a certificate of authenticity and a hand-engraved plaque bearing a serial number along with the owner’s name. For that money, we don’t care about the certificate or the plaque, but it would better make our cars shine reaally nice!

Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe revealed

Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe

With two weeks left until its official world debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe was officially revealed today, in a press release made by the British producer.

The Phantom Coupe is powered by the 6.75 litre V12 engine that produces 453 bhp and 720 Nm of torque and, benefiting from a 25 per cent increased fuel capacity it has an improved driving range. The press release says: “Designed to cover great distances effortlessly, the Coupé is the perfect choice for a transcontinental trip”. Yeah right, like people who buy a Rolls usually get around between continents by car. We can only imagine a rich arab travelling from Dubai to Paris by car, no matter how fancy and comfortable this is. And we seriously doubt that Rolls can compete with an private jet.

And another thing we don’t understand. Sure, the first impression was “Oh, cool, a new Rolls. Looks great!”. But the we thought about it better and, by definition, Rolls Royce is a car made for back passengers. Sure, there are rich idiots who buy a Rolls just so they have to something fancy to drive, but that’s not important. A Coupe is, also by definition, a car for it front passengers, especially for the driver. Now I wonder, where’s Rolls going with this model? Is it trying to enter other markets, where a Rolls will be a car you can also drive yourself? Then what’s with the fancy back seats?

Anyways, check out more photos of the Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe and the full press release after the jump.

Rolls Royce Phantom modified by EDAG

Rolls Royce Phantom Articulated Roof

Apparently rich dudes don’t fit any more in their Rolls Royces, so they need the car bigger. After yesterday we wrote about the stretched Rolls, today we have another modified one, this time one that is larger on the vertical. Did you see all those celebrities and millionaires with head bumps? Neither did we, but apparently EDAG thought that an articulated roof would be cool and they came up with this modified Rolls Royce Phantom which will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show.

Looking more like an airplane door, the Articulated Roof allows the passengers to enter and leave the car in an upright position, all that with just one push of a button. “There was no way to avoid severing the lateral roof frame of the aluminium spaceframe. A reinforcement cut from solid metal, which at one and the same time incorporates the kinematics, water channel, locking mechanisms, seals and finger protection, does, however, provide the essential rigidity of the body. The aluminium structure for the roof was likewise cut from the solid. To save weight, the roof’s outer skin panel is made of synthetic carbon-fibre material. The roof’s interior trims were re-designed, and covered with original quality Rolls Royce materials”

Stretched Rolls Royce Phantom

So, you’ve got a Rolls but feel that sometimes it gets crowded back there so you’d need a little more space? Don’t worry, because German company Mutec took care of your problem, by creating this stretched Rolls Royce Phantom for you and your friends. The Rolls has been stretched 43 inches and the rear bench has been replaced by two sets of seats from the Phantom’s theater seating package, to create individual seating for four. The stretched Rolls’ interior also features extended privacy curtains, modified center consoles, and, because of course you need privacy, a retractable partition that separates rear passengers from the driver.
