Rumors say the Camaro project might be cancelled, GM releases undisguised photos

Chevrolet Camaro Prototype

In this winter holiday, some pretty interesting things happened, related to the Chevrolet Camaro project. First, we received an e-mail from one of our readers, a worker for Auto Warehousing Canada, the company processing GM vehicles in Canada, telling us that people over there are talking about the Camaro project not happening. And he also said that, usually, when these rumors show up, they’re usually true. Another fact he points out is that usually, prototypes show up in the plant, but so far, nothing. I repeat, this is just a rumor, sent to us by one of our readers.

On the other hand, a couple of days ago, GM released a photo of a Chevrolette Camaro, without any camouflage, and also announced that, from now on, all pre-production Camaro wil be tested undisguised. So, a really interesting situation.

Bailey Blade could go on sale next year

Bailey Blade

35 year old Neal Bailey is trying something really cool. He wants to create a modern sports car that is inspired from the classic sports car and he has chosen the Shelby Cobra as his source of inspiration. We’re sure this was a really brave decision, because it’s not everyday we see someone trying to create its own sports car and, if the Bailey Blade project succeeds, hats down for Neal. The Bailey Blade is based on a heavily modified chassis from a replica Cobra, tweaked to fit an independent front and rear suspension. Bailey also aims at the Europeans, so the Blade will meet European standards, plus that a right side steering wheel will be available. Neal hopes to have a full working prototype by next summer and he also hopes to make the first sales at the end of 2008.

You can check out more photos of the Bailey Blade project, after the jump.

The Delta DUNE Project based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee

Delta DUNE Project

German tuner Delta, specialized in creating some cool 4×4 tuning programs, created this, the Delta DUNE Project for the 40th Essen Motor Show. The car, based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee has got a power boost of 74 hp, so it now has 499 hp and goes from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in less then 5 seconds, which is quite amazing. The power output was increased by a specially developed motor-management system, new sport exhaust with performance manifold and modified air feed.

The whole car was lifted by 100 mm but the new front spoiler lowers the clearance by 50 mm. All that, plus the custom 23 inch Elements IV wheels wrapped in Continental Cross Contact tires and the special maroon matt paint with scratch protection add up to make the Delta DUNE Project one really interesting 4×4 tuning program.

See more photos after the jump.
