Ford Focus turned into musical instruments

Ford Focus Musical Instruments

If you’d ask someone what can you do with a car, I bet you most answers would be “you can drive it” and no one would say “you can play it”. And they’d be wrong, because look at this Ford Focus (or at least what’s left of it). Two American musicians, composer Craig Richey and sound designer Bill Milbrodt stripped a brand new Ford Focus and used its parts to create 31 musical instruments, like a Rear Suspension Spike Fiddle, Door Harp, Clutch Guitar and Fender Bass. Sounds cool, huh?

The instruments will be used by an orchestra to play the music in a Ford Focus commercial which will be aired on ITV Europe on February 4th.

Check out more photos and read the full press release after the jump.

Insane 17,000 watts audio system

Ok, I understand, when you’re driving you like your music loud, but c’mon. I wonder how long will it take before this guy goes deaf (if he isn’t already). And for those of you who are considering putting that on your car, the 17,000 watts are produced by 4 Fi BTL 18s, 8 Sundown Audio SAZ-1500Ds. Oh, and that’s a 2006 Ford Expedition, so I wouldn’t try that on a, I don’t know, Mini…could blow up your windows easily. Enjoy the video!

People of Rockford, Illinois, turn down that music!

Loud Music Ordinance

If you live in Rockford, Illinois, and like to drive around with your music loud, you might end up having some serious problems. Because on August 20 the city adopted an ordinance, under which the police can seize your car if it gets reports that your playing music too loud. And this will cost you some serious money: you’ll have to pay fees of $150 to $750 are paid, a $75 towing fee, $15 to $20 per day storage fee and a $60 per hour charge if the tow truck moves slow and the police officer has to wait for it more than an hour.

And with all the bureaucracy, this could cost you as much as $1,100. And if you don’t get the police’s mail or you can’t pay the fees in 30 days, your car will be confiscated permanently. And the nasty part is that you can get in this mess if someone merely accuses you of playing loud music, because “hearsay evidence shall be admissible”. So, look out!

Ok, this is not necessary about cars, but I found this video on YouTube of Rihanna’s new song, “Shut up and drive”, and I thought it would be nice to share with you. I personally like Rihanna very much (especially her good looks) and this, combined with the cars in the video, gives a pretty good picture. In the clip you can see some nice cars, a Ferrari F430, a 1967 Ford Mustang and a tuned something. Here you go, enjoy!
