Alfa Romeo MiTo UK

Alfa Romeo has announced that their latest car, the highly anticipated MiTo, will hit UK showrooms next month. Though the car’s official debut is scheduled to happen on January 24, UK dealers will start getting MiTo’s for display purposes and, starting November 1, they’ll also start accepting orders for the car. The Alfa Romeo MiTo will be available with four engines, all Turbo (petrol and diesel). The starting price will be £10,975 for the 95 hp 1.4 liter version.

Alfa Romeo Mi.To spotted on the street

Alfa Romeo Mi.To

With the Alfa Romeo Mi.To getting closer and closer to launch, we got a few pics of the car, the first interior photo a few days ago and now we have the first photos of the car in the wild. Taken by Biagio, one of Progetto955 readers, these photo show two versions of the Mi.To roaming around Turin. If the red one doesn’t surprise us, the white one is a first. And it looks great. According to the guy who took the photos, the cars were out there on a promotional activity or something, most likely Alfa shooting some cool photos to release later.

What do you think? Like it? How about the white one?

The rest of the photos after the jump.

Alfa Romeo Mi.To Interior

The Alfa Romeo Mi.To continues the Italian offensive against Mini, started by the Fiat 500, which we tested last week. We’ve seen the car many times before, but here is the first photo of the car’s interior, which was published by AutoWeek.nl. As you’d expected, being an Alfa, the interior is very sporty, with carbon-fiber inserts on the center console, steering wheel and instrument panel. And it looks really good, making us really eager to see the car for real.

What do you think, do you like it? Which one looks better on the inside, the Mi.To, the Mini or the retro Fiat 500? Drop a comment here.

Weak dollar tempts Alfa Romeo to start production in the United States

Alfa Romeo returns to USA

In a recent interview for the Financial Times, Fiat’s Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne announced that Fiat is considering moving the production of some Alfa Romeo cars to the US, which became a very attractive country for producers, after the dollar got very weak in comparison to the Euro.

This would be the return of Alfa Romeo to the US, after the company was forced to abandon production here in 1995. Fiat already started talking to the Detroit 3 (General Motors, Ford and Chrysler) about sharing production, but so far there was no official reaction from them.

Fiat plans to start producing Alfa Romeos in the US in 2011 or 2012 and rumors say that the Fiat 500 might also be produced in the US, but no confirmation so far.

The Alfa Romeo Mi.To unveiled

Alfa Romeo Mi.To

A few days ago Alfa Romeo announced in a press release their latest car, the upcoming Alfa Romeo Mi.To. The Alfa ‘Mini killer’ (though I hate this term) joins the Fiat 500 in an Italian attempt to challenge Mini’s place in the market. One thing’s for sure about the Mi.To, it has a strange name, which comes from the first two lettres of the cities were the car was conceived. ‘Mi’ comes from Milano, where the car was designed and To comes from Turin (Torino), where the small car will be produced.

Being an Alfa Romeo, we know from the beginning that the car is beautiful and the photos confirm that. The Mi.To borrows some characteristic from Alfa’s latest sensation, the 8C Competizione, such as the three-lobed front-part, the particular shape of the unframed side windows and the shape of the headlights and the LED tail lights. Under the hood, the Alfa Romeo Mi.To will be offered with 4 engines, all Turbo (petrol and diesel), that currently range from 90 hp up to 155 hp, with the range due to be extended by even higher power ratings.

Check out to see more photos, a short video and read the full press release after the jump.
