Tomorrow, California’s Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in front of a Senate Committee to give some explanations about his role in the $17 million flex-fuel which was handled to GM, back in 2005. So, what happened, you may ask. Well, while according to California laws, for big contracts like this, you have to find competitive bids, it seems that there was only a private meeting with GM’s representatives and the contract was given “per the Governor’s request”, which is not really legit.
However, back then, GM was the only company certified to sell flex-fuel vehicles. This could also be caused by Arnold’s known connection with GM, the company having important support from Schwarzenegger when they brought Hummer to the market. We’ll let you know once we have news on this.
