Though we expected to see the new Toyota LandCruiser at the Frankfurt Motor Show which will end this week, it seems that the large SUV from Toyota will make its world debut at Australia’s Sydney Motor Show. And like the old generation wasn’t big enough, Toyota decided to make it bigger. The new LandCruiser is 60 mm longer, 30 mm wider and 15mm taller. With the noew LandCruiser, Toyota will also be introducing the KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) hydraulic suspension system which improves off-road and on-road driving.
In Australia, Europe and Japan the Land Cruiser will be offered with an improved 4.7 VVT-i V8 petrol engine which, mated with a 5 speed automatic transmission, develops 288 hp at 5400 rpm and has a fuel consumption of 14.4 L/100km (16.3 mpg US). Australia and Europe will also get the choice of a new 4.5-liter V8 diesel engine which develops 286 hp at 3600 rpm and takes 10,2 L/100km (23.0 mpg US). We don’t know what versions will be available for the US, but we’ll probably find out more when the car will be revealed at Sydney.
