Volvo announce the extension of the Volvo C70 engine range, with the addition of a new 2.0 liter turbodiesel unit. The engine comes standard with a Diesel Particulate Filter, that reduces unburned soot particles in the exhaust gases. The engine produces 136 Hp, 320 Nm of torque and takes the Volvo C70 from 0 to 100 km/h (60mph) in 11.0 sec and to a top speed of 205 km/h (127mph).
Not very impressive tech specs, but Volvo claims that fuel consumption is just 6.1 l/100 km which will probably be very popular in Europe, Fredrik Arp, President and CEO of Volvo Cars, saying that the new engine will account for 20 percent of total C70 sales. The first cars will reach European showrooms during autumn 2007.
