Definitely, I mean the resemblance is overwhelming

Donut commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

It looks more like a Puma to me.

dave commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

what is even more remarkable is the resemblance to the crysler weblog post on the topic…

 J commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

This vehicle will be marketed to the same demographic that plays Halo anyway …

Testament commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

Yeah, except for the fact that the Warthog is slighly decent looking and the Jeep concept is just hideous.

Simmons commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

Uh… You mean like the shoe company?

Ian commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

gah no! the halo warthog just looks like some run of the mill 80s dune buggy..

I see no resemblance at all other than both of them are pretty hideous.

“Renegade could easily replace the Warthog and no one would even notice.” Please dont tell that to Jeep.. otherwise you’ll end up with Jeep ‘warthogs’ in halo :P in game marketing at its errr best.

i would want one only if they will mount a gun on it for me, or a rocket launcher… or rail gun…and it gotta have a radio and a place to plug in my ipod…

Elliott commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

Today, we are proud to announce Halo 4, sponsored by Jeep!

superjupi commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

There is no resemblance, other than they both have four wheels and sit high. You’d have no worse an argument for Craftsman’s nail gun being inspired by the Needler. Some people…

mitch commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

I remember back in 1999/2000 when Jeep had a similar physical concept so I think Halo might have copied Jeep.

To me the Warthog looks Jeep inspired and not the other way around.

Kevin commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

It would be better if it looked exactly like it, then I would totally buy it.

MIke commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

Here is a little piece of info for you uneducated fools who dis the Hog. If you would bother to read the Halo series written by Eric Nylund. You would understand the actual base that the “HOG” has been built on. Every aspect of this machine is there for a reason. Again…uneducated people will assume that looks are everything. This vehicle “HOG” was built for an attack platform with no thought to what the “public” would want. Who gives a crap about some damn yuppie’s opinion of taste. This machine has 1400 HP with a hybrid waterproof diesel engine, 1100 ft pounds of torque, 4 wheel independent intelligent suspension, 2in battle plate armor with radar dispersing capabilities, 75 in 100 ply tires that have noco02 technology, bullet proof front shield, rear mounted interchangeable rail gun/guass cannon. Able to withstand an insane amount of damage before it even starts to whine. LOL…There isnt an auto maker that could even come close to Nylund’s dream of this machine. Hell there inst an auto maker that can make a car that will last 150,000 miles “save toyota” and even they are made of paper. That jeep is a pretty little toy made for the domograph that would buy a machine like …says a Hummer. Can you says soccer mommy. If someone actually makes a machine that is even close to the Warthog..I will be having one.

Sarge commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

What in sam’s hell is a puma’?

FRABAR commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

That’s nothing like it!!!
Where’s the turret, seriously?

I think I’m the first to get your joke.

Hilarious! haha RVB rocks!

Sarge commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

So, unless anybody has any more mythical creatures to suggest for the name of the new vehicle, we’re gonna stick with, the “Warthog”. How about it Grif?

Sarge commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

Didn’t I tell you to quit making up animals?

 Hed1st4Halos commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

Thought i’d post my opinion, if the jeep renegade can pump out a machine as advanced, and badass as the hog, you’ll all be in deep shit as I chase you down in one.

 shagbasty117 commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

either way… GIMME!

@MIke

You’re an idiot. Before you start bitching about how ‘uneducated’ everybody is, take an English course (or two) and spend a couple of hours on your spelling.

bobby commented on Nov 23rd, 2007

this drawing is based on the jeepster concept, which i think was a design that was created before halo 1.

Right on bro!! The only people I can’t stand are intolerant people!! Well them and the Dutch of course.

badasseddyg commented on Nov 28th, 2007

You watch, next they’llbe sending them to Iraq and Afganistan to be used by the Yanks. A Chance possibly to enlarge the consumer base… yeh, like they’d want to buy American vehicles over there.. but you kno yanks, they’d try anything!

Hummers are built to last over 300,000 miles. Even the H2. The H3 is only around 200,000, but all three are fairly bulletproof, even off road. Get you facts straight, dumbass.

 q commented on Dec 8th, 2007

The all new warthog, WARTHOG v2 from halo, MC v2 coming soon from jeep.

Rickey commented on Dec 8th, 2007

That Jeep looks nothing like a Warthog. A Warthog is a lean mean fighting machine, and that Jeep looks like one of those little battery powered plastic cars that a 4 yr. old would drive.

Church commented on Dec 8th, 2007

Note to self: Cars become easier to shoot through when not on a road.

Matt commented on Dec 10th, 2007

One other similarity between these is the steering. I know the warthog in halo has all wheel steering, and I believe the Renegade (at least one edition) has some pretty crazy all-wheel steering features. Could be that the Renegade was inspired by the warthog a bit…or it could be that the developers who thought up the warthog were thoughtful enough about it that they actually sort of saw where things might be headed in general.

Actually you guys; you are both wrong. My 1999 Ford Explorer Limited is living proof that there are automakers that make cars that last 150K miles. That automakers name would be FORD (and Jeep). My good friend owns a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic that has even more miles than mine does. By the way… We’re going for 200,000+ and we’re not stopping until we get there. IT WILL BE DONE!

Grif commented on Jul 8th, 2008

Definitely the Chupathingy

Besides, if Halo copied Jeep, why does theirs look so much better?
