After the Fiat 500 got some serious tuning from MS Design and H&R, here’s what we were expecting, the Fiat 500 Abarth. Though rumors say that the Abarth SS will have 150 hp, it looks like the 1.4 liter turbocharged engine will develop 180 hp. Yep, you read right, 180 hp. Also featuring a modified front bumper with additional air-intakes, new side skirts, new rear bumper and dual-exhaust pipes, the car will probably aim at the Mini Cooper S, especially that Fiat made no secret that is wants to enter the premium mini car market.
I know the car looks good, the figures look good but still, will Fiat have the power to challenge the Cooper S? I am a little skeptical, so what do you think? View more photos after the jump so you can see what we’re talking about.

Back in the early 70’s while going to high school, I worked at a speed shop. They worked on nothing but Fiats. While there I got my first Fiat, a 1960 124 four door sedan. I removed the 1100cc push rod engine and dropped in a 1600 twin cam. I loved it.
I wish that I could get one of the new 500’s here in North America.
