Though Hummer is not going through its best times (sales down 61 percent in July, GM trying to get rid of the brand), here’s the 2009 Hummer H2 Black Chrome, a special edition limited to 1,300 units. The special model features a new set of 22 inch wheels and a couple of black chrome treatments including a new grille, a new fuel cap, side vents and badge, side-view mirrors, door handles and latches. A choice of three exterior colors are available: Silver Ice Metallic, Sedona Metallic(exclusive to Black Chrome Edition) and Carbon Black Metallic.

Hummer just announced the pricing for the pickup truck version of the H3, the smallest SUV from Hummer. This was confirmed by General Motors at Shreveport, Louisiana. The pickup will begin production in the third quarter of 2008 and the project is getting a $73 million investment.

Does anyone care about this? GM has problems and not long ago told that wants to sell many of its brands, including Hummer. Not to mention that the current Hummer generation sucks. I mean, the first one was cool, the second one is ok, but this one…no thanks!

The H3 has been revealed first time in 2004, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, as a concept. The president of GM Norts America described H3 as “the brand’s first true pickup”. This four-door H3T shares its midsize chassis with the Chevrolet Colorada and GMC Canyon and its been described as “larger than a midsize truck, smaller than a full-size”. H3T is basically a modified version of H3’s basic architecture with a 3.7L 5-cylinder or 5.3L V8 available.

The H3T comes with 32″ tires, four-wheel drive, 5-speed manual or four-speed electronically controlled automatic, dual front airbags and side impact air bag, 5-year warranty starting at $31,495.

Truck Trend broke the embargo date (February 1) and, in its latest issue, published the first photos of the Hummer H3T Pickup, which is scheduled to be presented at the Chicago Auto Show next week. Built on the Chevrolet Colorado/Hummer H3, the Hummer H3T is a five passengers pickup, offered with a range of engines from the 245 hp 3.7 lier Vortec engine (with dual overhead cams and variable valve timing and mated to a five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed automatic gearbox), to the Hummer H3 Alpha’s engine, a 304 hp 5.3 liter V8, mated to a four speed automatic transmission (towing capacity is 2,676 kg).

Besides the Z85 Heavy-Duty Handling and Trailering standard suspension package, customers will be able to choose the Off-Road Adventure suspension package (front and rear locking differentials, 33-inch tires, 4.03:1 low-range gearing in the transfer case and crawl ratios of 68.9 with the manual transmission or 56.2 with the automatic). The standard suspension package, the Z85 Heavy-Duty Handling and Trailering, uses 32-inch tires.

About a month ago, we’ve told you about the Hummer HX Concept, which will debut at the Detroit show. But it seems that we won’t have to wait until then, because here’s what broke loose on the web: high resolution photos of the HX Concept.

What we know, so far, about the HX, is that it is 81inch (2.057m) wide and it has a 103inch (2.616m) wheelbase. The Hummer HX Concept has the design Hummer got us used to and it’s an open-air vehicle that can go doorless. It has full-time four-wheel drive and it’s powered by an E85 FlexFuel 3.6L SIDI V6 routed through a six-speed automatic transmission. The suspension features a front stabilizer bar that can be electronically disconnected and at the back we have a massive CNC-machined billet trailing arm.

The Hummer H3 is one of the most useless cars, in my opinion and after talking with people around me I found out I’m not the only one who thinks that way. I mean, it doesn’t have that imposing look, the first two generations had, especially the first one and also it’s not as comfortable as the others SUVs around. And my guess is Hummer realizes that and tries to push it to the European market with this special edition, the Hummer H3 Black Edition.

Basically, this 50 units special edition is an Adventure edition, full painted in black and with 5,000 Euro worth of extras, including matt black grille, tubular assist steps, roof crossbars, lockable fuel door, door handles, mirrors and black powder-coated wheels. The car will have starting price tag of €49.950 (in Germany) and is created by Kroymans Hummer Europe, the European importer of Hummer vehicles.
