
Launched in Europe in March, at the end of November, Nissan sold its 100,000th European Qashqai. Because of its succes and the fact that the Sunderland plant wasn’t enough to cope with the European demand, Nissan had to increase the Qashqai production at the Kyoto plant in Japan. According to Nissan, the best selling markets where the UK (17,554 units), Russia (15,376 units) and Italy (10,746 units). Japanese sales are also going great, Nissan selling about 18,000 units since the Dualis (Qashqai’s Japanese name) went available, in May.
