They charge at levels varying from 3.3 Kw to 11Kw which is the standard for the hybrid vehicle charging systems. This Kostal power application control unit is responsible for converting power from the source to the in-built car batteries in a way that the batteries will use it.

This auto part is designed in consideration of essentials like weight, power density, cost, space and efficiency. What you can expect is only the best. There is the separation between the cooling system and the electrical system thanks to the control unit.

Four Best Ways to Reduce Your Auto Insurance Premium

Posted on September 7th, 2011

Most insurance companies do not like to take the risk of providing insurance to the many bad drivers out there on the roads today unless they are well compensated. This compensation comes in the form of significantly higher rates than those of good drivers. In this case good and bad are determined by your driving record, number and type of tickets, accidents, age and gender.

Therefore, if you are one of the individuals who have had some unfortunate experiences behind the wheel, then you are most likely dealing with these frustrating issues with your insurance premiums. The sad truth of it all is that you will continue to have troubles until the reasons for it are straightened out. If you require bad driver insurance, you will inevitably pay more. Unfortunately, there is no way around that problem. However, there is light at the end of your tunnel. Following, are the four best ways to get great car insurance rates no matter who you are or what type of driving habits you have had in the past.

  1. Work on improving your driving skills, such as taking a driving class. After doing so, within a relatively short period of time, your rates will improve. In addition, if you offer proof of your successful completion of the class to your insurance company, they’ll most likely give you a discount on your auto policy for that as well.
  2. When purchasing a vehicle, make sure to get a car that is “insurance friendly.” Insurance companies change their rates depending upon the car you choose to drive. Before making the purchase, see if your choice of vehicle will increase your insurance rates.
  3. Attempt to do less driving. If you put less mileage on your car every year, it will not cost nearly as much to insure. Typically, auto insurance companies use 12,000 miles per year as their average, so if you can keep your mileage below this standard, you stand a greater chance of paying out less cash in auto insurance premiums.
  4. Last, but not least, consider increasing your comprehensive and collision deductibles. This can, in most circumstances, result in a reduction of your insurance premium.

These are just a few of the ways to reduce your car insurance rates, there are many more if you choose to do further research. The bottom line is it doesn’t matter who you are or what your previous driving record may contain, you will be able to reduce your auto insurance rates.

Cheap Auto Insurance Quotes

Posted on June 14th, 2011

There was a time when getting cheap auto insurance quotes meant you’d have to search through the Yellow Pages for a list of insurance agents, and spend the day calling them, perhaps even having to meet in their office, before you’d have a list of cheap insurance quotes that you could compare.

These days, getting cheap auto insurance quotes is much easier, and in many cases, you can get everything you need within an hour or two.

To start, you’ll want to make sure you have your drivers license number, vehicle identification number, and any other personal information that auto insurers will need to give you a quote. If you’ve had any moving violations in the past few years, keep those dates handy.

From there, getting auto insurance quotes is as simple as visiting an auto insurance company’s website, answering a few questions, and getting an instant quote. If you look at JD Power & Associates most recent list of auto insurance ratings, you’ll see that some of the clear winners are USAA and GEICO, who scored high based on their cheap rates and great customer service.

It’s also important to remember that just because a company gives you cheap auto insurance quote, doesn’t mean they are the cheapest in the long run. Many will try to bait and switch by offering low rates now, but dramatically raising your rates after a “driver history check,” or in the event of a moving violation or accident.

That being said, you should always check your current auto insurance rates against those in the industry, and anytime you can get a better deal, you don’t have a lot to lose by switching. There is no penalty, aside from losing a long-term customer discount, with changing auto insurance companies, so I try to check rates every 6 months or so, upon time for my semi-annual renewal.

In most cases, if you find a cheap rate that saves you money, then you can cancel, switch, and have your new ID cards in less than 24 hours. Some auto insurance companies will require an inspection, but they usually give you 30 days to get this done.

At the end of the day, getting cheap auto insurance is as easy as going online, filling out a few forms, each asking the same questions, and comparing rates between companies. The only caveat is to make sure that when comparing rates, you are comparing rates for the same coverage.

Bad Credit Auto Loans

Posted on March 18th, 2011

Having bad credit makes it nearly impossible to live any semblance of a normal life. It’s hard to get a mortgage, banks don’t want to touch you, and if you need to get a bad credit auto loan, you can expect to pay upwards of 10-15% APR, which is insane when you consider that many auto owners, those with good credit that is, can get 0% APR loans.

That being said, if you are dead set in buying a car with bad credit and or need new transportation, then there isn’t much you can do besides trying to get a good deal on a loan.

The best way to get bad credit auto loans that won’t kill you is to shop around. There are many places, such as Capital One and HSBC, which offer decent deals for new and used cars. Also, if you have a good reputation at your small bank or credit union, then they might be willing to give bad credit auto loans provided that you put some money down.

If you are in the military and have bad credit, then you shouldn’t have a problem, as many car dealers offer special programs for military members.

Another great way to get bad credit auto loans, if you can swing it, is to have a co-signer with good credit. This can be a friend or family member willing to co-sign and put their name on the bank note. Of course, if you don’t pay, then they’ll get hit too, but if you get a loan in this manner and pay it on time, then you should have a much easier time getting an auto loan in the future.

If you’re still having trouble, you can always try a corner lot dealer with a buy here pay here financing option, but I would only use them as a last resort, as many times they offer ridiculous rates and charge penalties for paying your loan early.

Once you have a loan in place, if the rate is above 10%, then wait about 6-12 months and look to refinance at a lower rate. You should be able to shave at least a few points off the rate, but just make sure that you don’t add more time to the loan, as this will cost you more than the few percentage points you’re already paying.

Auto Loan Refinance

Posted on January 14th, 2011

Believe it or not, getting an auto loan refinance is becoming standard practice among car buyers. As rates adjust (these days, mostly going lower), it becomes common to shop for new auto loans in the same way that people shop for refinance home loans. After all, if you can save a few thousand dollars by the end of your term, or even a few extra dollars per month, then it makes living on a tight budget a little bit easier to do.

The first thing to look for when shopping for an auto loan refinance is the term. If you only have 3 years left on your current loan, then you’d be foolish to add more time, even if it meant a lower rate or lower monthly payment. On the other hand, if you can get a lower rate for a 36 month loan, then it’s definitely worth taking a second look.

The next thing you want to look for is small things like closing costs and payoff costs. If there is an early payment penalty, then run away. Also, if there are high closing costs, then you should skip the deal as well. The only time a refinance is worthwhile is when the closing costs are zero.

Once you’ve identified the major parts of your auto loan refinance, the rest is pretty easy. Who will take your loan? Will you be able to pay online? Is customer service going to be an issue?

Another important issue with an auto loan refinance is payoff timeline. It’s important to make sure that you keep paying until your new loan goes into effect. If you overpay, then they will adjust your new balance. I’ve seen many problems occur when car owners get an auto loan refinance and assume they can just stop paying on their current loan. If you do this, you will get yourself into trouble, so just keep checking with both companies until the paperwork is straight.

Most people with car loans will get solicitations from refinance companies, but if you haven’t received one and are looking to test the waters, then start with your local bank and credit union, spreading out to other companies you’ve done business with before trying a brand new bank or loan agency. Just a final word of advice – if the deal looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Always read the fine print, and ask questions until you are blue in the face, because once you sign the contract, it’s too late.

Production ready Ford Focus RS unveiled

Posted on December 12th, 2008

We saw the new Ford Focus RS concept live at the Paris Motor Show and yesterday Ford has unveiled the production ready version, which was already available for orders in the UK, with the first deliveries expected in March. Priced under £25,000, the new RS will be powered by an upgraded version of the 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine from the Focus ST, which will develop 296 hp and take the car from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and up to an electronically limited speed of 155 mph (over 160 without the limiter).

The RS will be fitted with an Automatic Torque Biasing limited-slip differential, developed by British engineering specialist Quaife and with Ford’s new RevoKnuckle suspension. Other performance upgrades include a new stability control, lowered ride height and bigger brakes, while a very aggressive bodykit (available in Performance Blue, Frozen White and the awesome Ultimate Green paint finish) completes the package.

Ford threatens enthusiasts sites with $100,000 lawsuit

Posted on December 12th, 2008

We would’ve figured that enthusiasts sites are usually a good resource for companies and deserve to be treated with respect and, who knows, maybe even ask them for an opinion from time to time. But apparently Ford doesn’t think so, because, recently, several enthusiasts sites received letters from Howard, Phillips and Andersen legal firm requiring the relinquishment of all Ford trademarks including domain names, banners, signs and merchandise. But that’s not all, because they also demand a $5,000 restitution payment by December 19th. In case the site owners refuse to do what Ford asks, they risk a $100,000 lawsuit. Oh boy, Ford really must need money if they started taking it from the people who love them. The official reason Ford gave was the the unofficial use of their trademarked names are damaging. Yeah, right!

Some of the website that got these letters are Mustang Evolution and Michigan Mustang. Read More: “Ford threatens enthusiasts sites with $100,000 lawsuit”

Michael Schumacher gets island from Dubai prince

Posted on December 11th, 2008

It looks like Santa Claus came earlier this year for Michael Schumacher and he was very generous with the former F1 driver. Actually, it wasn’t Santa, but Dubai’s crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who’s a big fan of the German and bought him a $7 million island located in The World archipelago. Though it’s located somewhere in the Antarctic area, Schumi won’t have to worry about the temperature, because the Dubai weather is pretty hot. We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely not getting an island for Christmas, so Schumi must be one lucky man.

2010 Mercedes Benz E Class official photos leaked

Posted on December 10th, 2008

Though the new 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class was scheduled to be unveiled in January, the German carmaker forgot that the internet is one of the most powerful mediums and thanks to the guys from Autoscoops.eu we’ve got the first official photos of the car, one month before the official unveiling (which might happen sooner now). The first thing we notice is the heavy influence from the F700 design study, unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt show and from the Concept FASCINATION, unveiled a couple of months ago, in Paris. Unlike its direct competitors, the BMW 5 Series and the Audi A8, which have sporty and power written all over, the E Class has always been about style and class, and you must admit, the new one has plenty of those. The only flaw we spot is the rear part, with those tail lights that remind us of the Citroen C5.

There was no official press release so far, but we expect the new E to be larger, longer and wider than the current generation, which means more space and comfort for the passengers. Under the bonnet, the new luxury sedan will probably be powered by new versions of Mercedes’ current engine line-up, like the 200, 220, 250 and 300 CDI diesels, the 350 BlueTec, of course, and a range of petrol engine, including a top-of-the-line AMG powerplant developing around 600 hp. As you’d expect from a Mercedes, especially in this class, the car will be stuffed with all sorts of technologies, including Night Vision, blind spot and lane departure warning, plus a new set of safety features, like the new impact absorbing bonnet that pops up 5cm and protects to cyclists or pedestrians at low speed collisions, plus a new system that reacts when potential collisions occur.

As we said earlier, Mercedes planned on announcing the car in January, with the world debut scheduled for March, at the Geneva Motor Show. Along with the new generation, new versions of the E Class will debut: an E-based coupe (Geneva) and a cabriolet (next year’s Frankfurt show).
